Bottom line, people who exercise daily reduce their oxidative stress which is one of the three main cellular enemies which will shorten you telomeres and lead you into aging disease.  This doesn't mean you over-exercise and become a fitness warrior or a weekend fitness warrior as too much exercise causes problems too as we discuss in the AgelessThrival course.

People who exercise have longer telomeres than people that don't. Research with twins shows the same thing.  It is your aerobic fitness that correlates with good cellular health. When you exercise your cells are being cleaned so there is less junk build-up, more efficient mitochondria, and fewer free radicals in your system.

Endurance type athletes who maintain excellent fitness and metabolic health have long telomeres but not that much more than moderate exercise.  No extremes are necessary to maintain a healthy telomere length for yourself. As I said previous when you overexercise you run the risk of developing burnout and physical issues including shortening your telomeres in your muscle cells.
