Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October historically to give gratitude for the year's harvest and bounty! Our national celebrations started in 1879. Canadian Thanksgiving MUST also be another day that we as a nation recognize and give thanks to the Indigenous People of Canada. Giving our gratitude in recognition to the Indigenous people as one of the three founding nations of Canada.

For me, Thanksgiving is a special time to extend my daily gratitude for the abundance and prosperity that flows into my life in every moment of every day! This differs from our American neighbors who celebrate their Thanksgiving on the third Thursday of November. Historically Thanksgiving is a day for families to gather to share traditional foods which can include roasted turkey, roast beef, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet corn, various autumn vegetables (including various kinds of squashes, but also Brussels sprouts), pumpkin pie, apple pie, and glazed yams.  But our nation is diverse with so many amazing cultures with different food traditions so celebrating Thanksgiving is about your personal family preference for giving thanks.  So however you are celebrating with whatever amazing food have the very best day!

I love you and I am always grateful for all you do and all you are!
